Here Be Dragons
Dragons can guard a hoard, cross a whole reel or change the board with a single breath. Dragon slots become more interesting when those creatures do something beyond sitting on a high-paying symbol. Here Be Dragons follows that idea through 20 published reviews from eleven studios.
In Dragon Hero, dragons stay on the reels and keep placing Wilds. Dragon’s Throne makes a dragon the combatant in a bonus battle, while Dragon Hatch 2 lets collected symbols wake four different creatures. Elsewhere, a bird and dragon converge in Fenghuang, and the Undead Dragon reshapes an expanding grid. These games share fire, scales and fantasy, but their rules take markedly different routes. A dragon can be a keeper of the board. Dragon Hero holds its creatures through free spins so they can keep placing Wilds, while Happy Dragon concentrates the action on an expanding middle reel. Some stories put the dragon in a more theatrical role. Dragon’s Throne stages a battle, and Fenghuang brings a bird and dragon together to form a large Wild.
