Wild Fish Bonanza Slot Review

Wild Fish Bonanza slot artwork

Wild Fish Bonanza uses a familiar fishing-slot premise but gives its two Scatter colors different destinations. The blue Scatter opens Wild Fishing, where a Fisherman Wild can collect money symbols across the screen; the green Scatter opens Bigger Catch, which adds a fixed prize row beneath the reels. The contrast matters: one round rewards gathering fisherman symbols over time, while the other makes the collector’s reel position determine which stored value is claimed. Both depend on matching a collector with a prize.

Ten lines, plus money symbols with a condition

The base game has five reels, three rows and ten fixed paylines, with line wins read from left to right. Its money symbols carry displayed prize values, but they are not automatically awarded as cash simply because they land. In the base game, a Fisherman Wild must appear on the same screen to collect the total value of the money symbols. The Fisherman also substitutes for ordinary symbols, while the two Scatter types trigger different free-games rounds.

That conditional collect is the design’s central tension. Several fish values can appear without paying their displayed amounts if no Fisherman arrives. The fish symbol can also participate in an ordinary line win, but that is separate from collecting the prize values. This distinction helps explain why the same screen can contain a conventional payout and an unclaimed cash-symbol total. It also prevents the misleading reading that every money icon is an instant award.

Blue Scatters build Wild Fishing

Three blue Scatters award ten Wild Fishing free games. Fisherman symbols collected during the round are tracked in a counter; reaching three, seven or twelve retriggers ten spins and adds a corresponding 2x, 3x or 10x multiplier to collected money prizes. Two random modifiers can alter the board as well. Boom Boom can convert a 3×3 area around a Fisherman into money symbols when no money symbol has landed. Shark Attack can convert two to four other symbols when a Fisherman and at least one money symbol are present.

The event order makes those modifiers more than visual decoration. A line win pays first; a modifier then creates more money symbols; the collector resolves afterward. Consequently, a spin with no initial fish value can become collectible through Boom Boom, while Shark Attack can enlarge an existing set before the same collect. The counter also persists across the feature, so fisherman symbols gathered on separate spins contribute toward later retriggers rather than needing to arrive together.

Green Scatters open Bigger Catch

Three green Scatters award ten Bigger Catch games on a 3×5 main grid with an extra bottom row. That row contains money and retrigger symbols which remain fixed across spins. Values rise from left to right; when a Fisherman lands on a reel, it collects the value directly beneath it. This is stricter than the screen-wide collection in the other mode: a fisherman on one column cannot collect a value stored under another column.

After collection, the claimed symbol is removed and the remaining bottom-row symbols shift left, with a new symbol entering on the next spin. Retrigger symbols can add five or ten spins when collected. The modes therefore ask for different reads: Wild Fishing centers on the counter and screen-wide prize total, while Bigger Catch turns reel position into a matching problem over a moving prize queue. RTP configurations vary across sources, so the local settings should be checked; the distinct collection rules themselves are documented consistently.

Strengths and weak points

Strengths

The two Scatter colors lead to mechanically distinct rounds: one tracks collector counts and screen-wide money, while the other turns a persistent bottom row into a reel-matching collect.

Weaknesses

Base-game money symbols require a Fisherman to award their displayed values, and RTP varies by configuration; the ten-line base game can feel secondary to its bonuses.

Our Editor’s View

The two bonus rounds give Wild Fish Bonanza its identity: one collects money values across the screen, while Bigger Catch pins prizes to columns and requires a reel match. Modifier timing makes the first mode more than a simple gather, and the second’s shifting bottom row creates a distinct positional decision. The base-game limitation remains that displayed money values need a Fisherman to be collected. Players who like conditional collection may appreciate the contrast, provided they check the operator’s RTP version.
