Temple of Akhet uses its Egyptian setting for an unusual multiplier ladder. Instead of adding a fixed numerical amount at every stage, later ladder values are formed from the preceding two. Golden Scarab and Sun Disc Wilds influence that progression in different ways, and Free Spins can raise the level to which it resets. Counting ladder steps and reading the current multiplier are therefore two related but different tasks.

Occurrence Pay counts symbols across the board
Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the 6×5 grid form a win. The official term is Occurrence Pay: it is not a requirement to connect a cluster or follow a fixed line. Winning symbols disappear for Avalanches, and replacements can form another qualifying count. This broader placement rule is important because the Egyptian appearance alone might suggest a conventional five-reel expanding-symbol format, which this game does not use.
Golden Scarab and Sun Disc Wilds both substitute for ordinary symbols except Scatters. A Golden Scarab participating in a win starts Sticky Respins, locking winning symbols and Scatters while the other positions Avalanche. The sequence continues while new winning symbols or Scatters become fixed, ending when there are no further additions or the board is full. The locking and counting rules work together without requiring adjacent matching positions.
A ladder step is not always one numerical multiplier point
The ladder begins 1x,2x, then forms each new value by adding the previous two: 3x,5x,8x and onward. An Avalanche advances it one stage, and a qualifying Sun Disc can advance it another one to three stages. Describing the change as simply adding 1x would miss the accelerating numerical growth. A later step can therefore represent a larger change than an early one, even when both count as one stage.
Sticky Respin cycles also advance the ladder. Sun Disc upgrades apply to the relevant progression, making the two Wild types complementary: the Scarab supplies retained positions and continued evaluations, while the Disc advances the modifier. The ladder has no stated fixed upper stage, but the game has an overall payout cap. An uncapped progression rule therefore does not imply an unlimited award or a known chance of reaching a high value.
Free Spins can raise the reset floor
Four Scatters award twelve Free Spins, with two more per additional Scatter, counting up to six at entry. During the feature, a safety level begins at 1x. Sun Disc upgrades raise that safety level, and the ladder resets to it between Free Spins. The current peak and the retained floor are different values: an impressive climb within one spin is not automatically carried in full to the next.
Three Scatters during the bonus add five spins, plus two for each additional Scatter. The current official card lists 94.19% RTP and high volatility, while the exact-game rules state a 10,000x stake ceiling. A paid Scarab option can guarantee its appearance, but still needs the Wild to join a win before Sticky Respins start. This distinction matters because purchasing a symbol condition does not purchase the resulting sequence or a particular ladder stage.
Strengths and weak points
Strengths
Fibonacci-style progression gives later ladder stages greater numerical impact. The bonus safety level adds a clear persistent floor, while the two Wild types influence progression through different conditions.
Weaknesses
A Golden Scarab must participate in a win to start respins. The ladder resets to its safety level between bonus spins, so the highest reached value is not automatically retained.
Our Editor’s View
Temple of Akhet’s most useful idea is distinguishing the ladder’s current height from its reset floor. Occurrence Pay and sticky positions can keep a sequence active, while Sun Discs alter progression and the bonus’s safety level. Its strength lies in that interaction rather than the familiar temple imagery. Its limitation is that neither a guaranteed Scarab appearance nor an earlier high multiplier assures the next qualifying win. It suits readers who enjoy tracking a growing modifier, provided they follow ladder stages accurately and keep the uncapped sequence separate from the 10,000x payout ceiling.
