Shifting Seas makes movement across the board as important as a symbol landing. A win removes the rightmost reel and brings in a new one on the left, moving the existing material towards the exit. Special Wilds can act when used in wins or pushed offboard, and bonus entry requires a Bonus symbol to complete that journey. The pirate setting consequently has a mechanical direction, rather than merely decorating a conventional Scatter trigger.

Each winning shift changes the available reel space
The game keeps six reels while replacing the rightmost one with a new leftmost reel after a Shift Win. New reels increase in height by one symbol, up to seven, with the maximum arrangement offering 117,649 pay ways. An Avalanche also removes symbols from the winning combination and fills the spaces. The board therefore changes through both rightward movement and replacement within its remaining positions.
This is not an unlimited expansion in the number of reels. The right edge exits as the left edge enters, maintaining the six-reel structure while height can grow. The distinction matters when following a Bonus or Special Wild towards the edge. A symbol that looks close to activating still needs enough qualifying movement to leave the board, and the next paid result is not guaranteed to provide the missing shift.
Special Wild effects have an explicit resolution order
A Special Wild activates its modifier when it contributes to a win or is pushed offboard. If several effects trigger together, Boost Shift resolves before Symbol Rush, followed by Wild Surge. Boost Shift supplies another reel movement and copies the former leftmost reel onto the new one. Symbol Rush transforms four to eight positions into identical symbols, while Wild Surge turns one to three positions Wild.
That order gives the combined result a defined structure rather than treating the three effects as interchangeable. Movement can change the arrangement before transformations occur. Copying a reel, choosing a regular identity and supplying substitutes also solve different problems on the board. Their interaction can be useful, but a list of triggered modifiers does not establish that the transformed positions will necessarily produce another qualifying win.
Free Spins begin when a Bonus symbol leaves the grid
Shifting a Bonus symbol off the board awards eight Free Spins; doing it again during the feature adds four. A Wild Reel can appear on the left with a 1x multiplier and move right with Shift Wins. When it exits, it returns to the left, raises its multiplier by 1x and awards one additional Free Spin. Simply moving one position does not itself earn that full circuit reward.
The current supplier card lists 96.15% RTP and high volatility, with a 15,000x stake ceiling. The Wild Reel’s recycling rule gives a successful feature another continuing target, but it remains dependent on winning shifts. A large ways count, a nearly escaped Bonus or a Wild Reel near the edge each describes an opportunity that still needs the next relevant event. They do not make a win due or turn movement into a player-controlled choice.
Strengths and weak points
Strengths
Offboard movement links entry, Special Wilds and Wild Reel recycling through one direction of travel. The documented modifier order makes combined events more intelligible than three unrelated bonus effects.
Weaknesses
Bonus entry needs the symbol shifted offboard, not merely present. The Wild Reel earns its multiplier increase and extra spin only after a full exit, and every further movement needs a qualifying shift.
Our Editor’s View
Shifting Seas earns its name by making the board’s right edge a destination for several different mechanics. Its strongest quality is that reel movement can both change the layout and complete a feature condition. The limitation is that visible proximity to the edge is not a guarantee of the next needed shift. It suits readers who enjoy following a sequence of positional effects, provided they distinguish growing height from growing reel count and a single movement from the Wild Reel’s completed recycling circuit.
