Archie O’Loggins and the Enchanted Masks Slot Review: Rules, Features and RTP

Archie O’Loggins and the Enchanted Masks game artwork by Thunderkick

Archie O’Loggins and the Enchanted Masks turns an archaeological expedition into a sequence of different Wild effects. Grenades change symbol values, Dynamite removes a type, and Masks move before defining a Wild Field. The comic-book explorer provides the setting, but the mechanical interest comes from recognising which tool is doing which job. Free Spins then strengthen specific parts of that system instead of replacing the cluster board.

Winning clusters leave more than empty space

The game uses a 7×7 grid with Cluster Pays, requiring at least five matching symbols in a connected group. Avalanche wins clear those symbols and allow replacements to enter. The resulting Wild can be regular or one of three Special Wild types. A regular substitute and a Special Wild are therefore different outcomes of the same broader sequence, rather than four separate bonus rounds that must all be triggered independently.

Grenade Wilds select one or two low-paying symbol types and upgrade every instance of those types to medium- or high-paying icons. Dynamite Wilds instead remove every occurrence of one low-paying type in the base game. Upgrading preserves a board position with a changed symbol; removal opens space for replacements. Both can affect a later cluster, but neither effect alone establishes that the new arrangement will meet the required matching threshold.

Moving Masks draw a Wild Field

Mask Wilds remain sticky and move to a random adjacent position whenever they participate in a winning cluster. Two Masks on the board activate the Wild Field system, converting the highlighted area between them into regular Wilds after the current winning activity finishes. Their positions therefore affect the area transformed. The feature is spatial: merely counting two Masks does not describe how large or useful their resulting field will be.

This creates a different kind of progression from the Grenade and Dynamite effects. The Masks can remain relevant across successive cluster evaluations, whereas an upgrade or removal changes the current symbol arrangement. Random movement prevents the player from choosing an exact rectangle. A field may improve substitution opportunities without guaranteeing that a particular premium symbol will connect into a winning cluster at the moment it is formed.

Free Spins strengthen specific Wild interactions

Three Bonus symbols activate Free Spins, and three or more during the feature award five additional spins. Dynamite removes two low-paying symbol types in the bonus instead of one. The official launch description also gives archaeologist symbols within the Wild Field a cumulative 1x multiplier effect. The supported change is therefore tied to particular symbols and locations; it should not be described as an unconditional multiplier increase on every spin.

Thunderkick’s current card lists 94.16% RTP and very high volatility, with 10,000x maximum win potential stated in its launch announcement. The opening Free Spins count is not established in the detailed account, so no fixed starting allocation is assumed here. The known trigger, extension rule and stronger Dynamite effect explain what changes without importing a bonus schedule from another Avalanche title.

Strengths and weak points

Strengths

Grenades, Dynamite and Masks change the board in three different ways. Moving sticky Masks give Wild Field placement a spatial role, while bonus Dynamite has a clear stronger effect.

Weaknesses

Random Mask movement prevents choosing a particular field. A larger transformed area does not guarantee a winning cluster, and the detailed account does not establish the opening bonus-spin count.

Our Editor’s View

Archie O’Loggins and the Enchanted Masks has substance behind its explosive presentation. Upgrades, removals and moving Wilds create different routes to changing a cluster board, with the field linking symbol position to later substitution. Its best interaction is the persistence of Masks alongside effects that reshape the surrounding grid. The limitation is that those moving positions and replacement symbols remain random, so an elaborate sequence is not equivalent to a large return. It suits readers who enjoy distinguishing several board-changing tools and following how specific rules become stronger during Free Spins.
