Moon Spell Slot Review: Moon Prizes and a Six-Step Prize Ladder

Moon Spell game artwork by Red Tiger

Moon Spell gives its Moon symbols two roles: each carries a random cash prize, and five or more can start Hold and Respin. Three or four award the sum of their values; in the feature, each new Moon resets a three-respin counter. Reaching ten symbols can also award a separate Prize Ladder prize, so the total combines two distinct components.

Main featuresThree or four Moons award combined cash prizes; five or more trigger Hold and Respin, where new Moons reset the counter and ten-plus can award a ladder prize.

RTP and stake limits can vary by version and market. Check the information screen in the game you open. Maximum win is a ceiling, not an expected result.

Cash prizes before the respin feature

The 5×3 game has 20 maximum lines. Moon symbols carry random cash prizes of 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 20x, 50x or 100x stake. Three or four Moons anywhere award their combined values, independent of a line combination. The rules give no odds for individual values or counts.

Five or more Moon scatters start Hold and Respin with three respins. Existing Moons stay while empty positions can receive new ones; each arrival resets the counter to three. The feature ends after three misses or when the grid fills, and all Moon cash values are then awarded.

The ladder adds a second award

Collecting ten or more Moons also awards a Prize Ladder multiplier alongside their cash values: 50x at ten, 100x at eleven, 200x at twelve, 300x at thirteen, 1,000x at fourteen and 5,000x at fifteen. The ladder is a second target; it does not replace the Moon cash total.

The counter-reset rule and prize thresholds interact. A new Moon both refreshes the remaining respins and increases the collection count toward the next ladder rung. But the ladder starts only at ten symbols, so a feature can end with a cash award without reaching a bonus-prize threshold. The maximum listed ladder value requires fifteen Moons, while filling all 15 positions also ends the feature. That is a defined upper condition, not an indication of how often a full board or any particular threshold occurs. A 50x Feature Buy is listed and guarantees entry into Hold and Respin with five or more Moon scatters; it does not guarantee a ladder prize.

Configuration and version-sensitive math

Game data lists 95.76% RTP, numeric volatility 22.49, a 5,224x maximum and release on 17 October 2024. The catalog instead shows 95.76% / 92.78% RTP and high volatility. It does not scope the second RTP value, so configuration remains unresolved. The 5,224x maximum also exceeds the ladder’s 5,000x top prize; the rules do not explain the difference.

Strengths and weak points

Strengths

Moon Spell clearly separates each symbol’s cash value from the additional Prize Ladder award, while the respin reset and full-board stop are easy to track.

Weaknesses

The odds of Moon values and collection thresholds are undisclosed, and the 5,224x game maximum is not reconciled with the 5,000x ladder ceiling.

Our Editor’s View

Moon Spell’s feature works best as a collection puzzle with two simultaneous measures: the cash attached to every Moon and the count needed to reach a ladder prize. Each new symbol extends the respin timer and moves the count closer to a threshold, while three empty respins end the attempt. The rules make that progression unusually concrete, although they do not disclose the likelihood of reaching ten, fourteen or fifteen Moons. The 5,224x maximum also sits above the 5,000x top ladder value without an explanation. Players who enjoy tracking held positions and separate prize components can follow the logic, but should not read the top rung as the whole payout ceiling.
