Hounds of Hell Slot Review: Roaring Packs and Hell Reels

Hounds of Hell slot artwork

Hounds of Hell turns its Hellhound symbols into reel-based cash multipliers. They spread upward at the end of a spin, then resolve in a defined order above each reel. Adjacent packs can raise the available multiplier ranges, while the free-spin modes decide whether reel totals accumulate through a round or reset after every spin.

RTP and stake limits can vary by version and market. Check the information screen in the game you open. Maximum win is a ceiling, not an expected result.

Spread, collect, then apply the bet

At spin end, each landed Hellhound spreads to the top of its reel and displays a multiplier. Values are collected bottom-to-top and left-to-right, then shown above their corresponding reels. Each reel’s collected total is multiplied by the bet to calculate the final award. Hellhounds come in Adding and Multiplying types: one adds to the current reel total and the other multiplies it. The listed base ranges are 1x to 50x for Adding and x2, x3, x4, x5 or x10 for Multiplying. Only one Hellhound can land on a reel at a time.

Roaring Packs form when at least two Hellhounds sit on adjacent reels in the same row. Their possible values move to higher ranges: Adding from 5x to 100x and Multiplying from x3 to x20. Hellhounds that spread from a pack member also count as part of that pack. If winning-symbol cascades separate a pack across rows, those symbols retain pack membership. That persistence is specific to the pack state; it does not mean every Hellhound on the grid is upgraded.

A random clear can create another chance

Hounds Are Loose may trigger after the grid settles and no new wins form. It removes all low-paying symbols and drops replacements, with a higher chance of new Hellhounds among them. The feature can occur multiple times on a spin. This is a possible continuation after the settled result, not an automatic cascade every time a win appears. The page does not state how often it triggers or the exact low-symbol set, so its increased chance should not be translated into a numerical expectation.

Three FS scatters start ten What the Hell! spins. Hellhound multiplier totals stay above the reels and can increase over the bonus; at the end, those collected values are added and multiplied by the bet. After three consecutive non-winning spins, Hounds Are Loose is guaranteed. Here, ‘non-winning’ means neither a regular symbol win nor a landed Hellhound. Four scatters start ten Who Let the Hounds Out?! spins, with the improved Hounds Are Loose feature and persistent activated Hell Reels. The first Hellhound on a reel activates it, after which a Hellhound is guaranteed on that reel each free spin. Reel totals pay at the end of each spin and reset to zero between spins.

The optional gamble is a separate risk

On entering a bonus, the player may proceed or gamble once, choosing up to three of five Hellfire Orbs. Each may contain two to ten free spins, or in What the Hell! an upgrade to Who Let the Hounds Out?! with ten spins. An upgrade is not guaranteed. Two or three additional FS symbols add two or four spins. FS symbols cannot appear above Hellhounds on the same reel.

The page omits RTP, volatility, grid size, paylines, maximum win and exact release date. Multiplier ranges reveal no frequency; random triggers and gamble outcomes remain uncertain.

Strengths and weak points

Strengths

The pack condition and collection order are explicit, and the two bonuses offer genuinely different accounting: round-long accumulation versus a reel reset after each spin.

Weaknesses

Hounds Are Loose and orb contents are uncertain, while multiplier ranges reveal no frequency; the public page also omits RTP and payout geometry.

Our Editor’s View

Hounds of Hell follows the events after symbols land: Hellhounds spread, packs may alter their value range, and reel totals resolve in order. Its bonuses track different states. What the Hell! holds values through the round; Who Let the Hounds Out?! activates reels that receive a Hellhound each spin but reset after each payout. These are meaningful structural differences. Our editor finds the accounting clear once they are understood. Trigger odds and return profile are unpublished, and an orb upgrade is only one possible outcome. Listed multipliers are not representative results.
