Green & Wild combines three distinct Wild types, linked respins and two free-game modes on a 5×5 board with 18 fixed lines. Wilds can substitute, expand or upgrade multipliers, while Scatter combinations start standard or Super Free Games. Their roles change by reel and phase, making the rules more layered than the line count suggests.

Five reels, eighteen fixed paylines
The game uses a 5×5 layout with 18 fixed paylines and evaluates matches from left to right. Character symbols and card suits fill the base game; Wilds substitute for regular icons and can also form their own combinations.
The Single Wild appears on reels one through four with a multiplier from 1x to 100x. Connected multipliers add when more than one contributes to a line win. At 1x it does not increase the payout, so its effect depends on both its displayed value and whether a winning line uses it.
Three Wilds, three different jobs
The Expanding Wild lands on reels two through four and grows downward, carrying a multiplier up to 100x. If it covers Single Wilds, it inherits the highest covered multiplier rather than adding their values; only one Expanding Wild can occupy a reel. Placement thus determines both its reach and inherited value.
The Upgrade Wild appears on reel five without its own multiplier. During respins it adds a random 2x–100x amount to at least one Wild already on screen, and can affect multiple Wilds over successive respins. Bonus symbols cannot land during this feature, keeping the Upgrade Wild within the existing Wild sequence rather than a Scatter route.
Together, these rules mean the three Wilds are not interchangeable. A Single Wild supplies the basic substitute and multiplier; an Expanding Wild changes coverage and may inherit a value; an Upgrade Wild changes values already present. For a line win, placement still matters: a large multiplier outside a winning combination is not shown as contributing to that payout. The sources do not provide a complete example calculation for every overlap, so the safe reading is the stated inheritance rule, not an assumption that all visible multipliers stack. That distinction is particularly useful when judging the respin board, where new Wilds can both extend the sequence and alter which combinations are available.
Wild respins and free-game routes
Any Wild starts respins after the initial win is paid. Participating Wilds lock while other positions spin; each new Wild joins them and grants another respin. The feature ends when no new Wild appears, with wins paid after each round. Bonus symbols are excluded, keeping this route separate from the Scatter bonuses.
Three Bonus Scatters on reels one, three and five award 10 Free Games. Expanding Wilds fill their reels in this mode, and two or three Bonus symbols add two or four spins. The Super route requires two standard Bonus symbols plus a Super Bonus on reel five, also awarding 10 games. Its Wilds have at least a 10x multiplier and Expanding Wilds fill reels; these are mode-specific rules.
Configuration and trade-offs
The references agree on the layout and principal Wild and Scatter systems. One lists a top RTP of 96.5% and 25,000x maximum, while Wildz identifies 94.50% for its MGA configuration; active return depends on operator version. The strength is interaction between held Wilds and upgrades. The cost is tracking Wild behaviors, two Scatter routes and respin restrictions.
Strengths and weak points
Strengths
The three Wild types have distinct, mechanical roles—substitute, expand and upgrade—while sticky respins provide a clear bridge between their landing positions and later wins.
Weaknesses
Wild positions, multiplier inheritance, Scatter combinations and symbol exclusions vary by phase, and the available RTP options differ between the reported top value and an MGA operator configuration.
Our Editor’s View
Green & Wild suits players who enjoy phase-dependent symbol rules. Respins preserve a Wild pattern only when another Wild lands, while the two free-game modes change expansion and multiplier behavior. The Wild system is coherent, but checking the operator’s RTP setting is essential when comparing versions. Its appeal is precise rule interaction; the limitation is managing several phase-specific conditions.
