Clover Craze Slot Review: Features, Rules and Payouts

Clover Craze game artwork by Red Tiger

Clover Craze is organized around the third reel: a Golden Clover landing in its middle position can branch into several different outcomes, depending on the symbols beside it. Green Clovers on one or both neighboring reels create multiplier-bearing large clovers; a Seven or Bell can lead to Cash Respins; and an otherwise unaccompanied Golden Clover forms an X-shaped pattern.

Expanding Wilds and the Golden Clover

The standard game has five reels, three rows and up to 20 lines. Green Clovers are Wilds on reels two, three and four; when they have an opportunity to help form a win, they expand to cover the full reel. This placement restriction concentrates the substitution feature in the middle of the board, while the 20-line structure supplies the ordinary way to make combinations. A Green Clover’s expansion can therefore affect several positions at once, but the source does not say that it guarantees a win: symbols on the other reels must still complete a paying line.

Cash Respins: collect, reset, then settle

A middle-reel Golden Clover paired with a Seven or Bell on an adjacent reel starts Golden Clover Cash Respins. The Golden Clover clones itself and pays wins; matching Sevens become cash prizes worth 3x, while Bells become 2x. If both appear beside it, Sevens take precedence. The initiating symbol type then drives the respin feature: three rounds are available, and a new symbol of that type resets the counter to three. The sequence ends after three consecutive respins without another qualifying symbol. This is a familiar resettable-counter structure, but the important restriction is that only symbols of the type that started the respins are active during them.

Cash values are totaled and paid after the respins conclude, including prizes from Golden Clovers. A Big Golden Clover can coincide with Cash Respins, but its 3x multiplier is removed when the respins begin and does not multiply the accumulated cash. The large 2×3 Golden Clover is instead counted as six cash-prize symbols. That explicit exception prevents the base feature multiplier from being carried into a separate cash tally. It also changes how the visual size should be interpreted: during Cash Respins, the clover’s area represents several cash-prize positions, not a continuing 3x multiplier on the total.

Math, configuration and trade-offs

The Red Tiger standard record lists 96.25% RTP, volatility 11.01 and a maximum payout of 21,000x. The board is recorded as 3-3-3-3-3, with up to 20 lines. The record also indicates feature buy-in availability, but does not supply its price schedule in the official detail fields; the feature descriptions do not resolve that omission. The maximum payout is a ceiling and says nothing about the frequency of reaching a 7x Huge Golden Clover, a long Cash Respin sequence or the cap itself. No feature probabilities are given.

Clover Craze’s strength is that adjacency rules give the centre-reel symbol a readable set of possible consequences. The trade-off is a dense rule tree: Green Clovers, Sevens and Bells each redirect the Golden Clover, and Cash Respins use a special settlement rule that strips the 3x effect. A player needs to follow both the trigger and the payout bookkeeping to understand what a visible combination means. The stated multipliers are precise, but they should not be mistaken for a complete measure of likely returns.

Strengths and weak points

Strengths

The Golden Clover’s neighboring symbols determine distinct, documented outcomes, and Cash Respins clearly define their active symbol, reset condition and final cash settlement.

Weaknesses

Several adjacent-symbol branches and a special multiplier-removal rule complicate evaluation; the record gives no odds for the outcomes or Cash Respin duration.

Our Editor’s View

Clover Craze rewards attention to the middle reel and its neighbors. A single Golden Clover can become a 3x or 7x expanded symbol, open a cash-respin sequence, or create an X pattern; the adjacent symbols decide which route applies. The reset-on-new-symbol rule gives Cash Respins a clear ending condition, while the removal of the Big Clover multiplier at the feature transition is an important limit on how its value carries forward.
