Alice: Time Rift Slot Review: Rules, Features and RTP

Alice: Time Rift game artwork by Thunderkick

Alice: Time Rift gives Wonderland a mechanical underworld setting and combines two different ways of preserving a useful symbol. Sticky Respins hold positions within a sequence, while Free Spins select a type that can expand across qualifying reels. The Time Rift symbol links both systems because it is Wild and Scatter. That hybrid structure matters more than the familiar characters when deciding what makes this version of Alice distinctive.

Sticky Respins preserve winning positions within a sequence

The standard board has five reels, three rows and ten paylines. Ordinary winning lines connect matching symbols from the leftmost reel. A Time Rift symbol substitutes for regular icons and also acts as the Scatter. When it participates in a paying line, Sticky Respins hold the winning symbols and Time Rift symbols in place while other positions spin again. A new or improved line win can add further fixed positions.

Additional Time Rift arrivals also keep the sequence running. In the bonus, new Selected symbols can remain fixed and extend it too. This is not the same as promising that every visible Wild stays for the entire Free Spins feature: the described locking belongs to the current respin sequence. It continues while the qualifying additions occur, then ends when they stop. Holding positions creates further opportunities without choosing what the remaining positions will supply.

The Scatter count changes both duration and selection

Three, four or five Scatters award eight, ten or twelve Free Spins respectively, with the same allocations used for retriggers during the bonus. Three allow any paying symbol to be chosen as the Selected symbol. Four restrict the choice to character symbols, while five select Alice. The trigger therefore changes the pool as well as the opening count; the strongest selection is not automatically part of an ordinary three-Scatter entry.

An Expanding Win requires the Selected symbol on at least three reels. At the end of the spin, its occupied reels expand before that win is evaluated, ignoring gaps between the reels. Time Rift symbols substitute for the selected type in this evaluation and transform into it after a bonus Sticky Respin sequence. Ordinary adjacent-line evaluation and the bonus’s expanding pay-anywhere evaluation should therefore be kept separate.

Several selected symbols on one reel create a multiplier

Two or three Selected symbols on the same reel create a 2x or 3x multiplier for that reel, capped at 3x and applying to Expanding Wins. The important condition is the count on one reel; three appearances spread across the board do not automatically mean a 3x multiplier on every participating reel. Multiple routes to expansion can make the feature busy, but each retains its own entry and evaluation condition.

Where offered, bonus entries associated with three-plus, four-plus or five Scatters cost 100x, 200x or 500x the stake. These prices purchase different starting conditions, not guaranteed profitable outcomes. The current official card lists 94.10% RTP and high volatility, and the exact-game review confirms a 7,500x stake ceiling. That ceiling is separate from a reel’s 3x modifier and cannot be inferred from a full-screen character picture alone.

Strengths and weak points

Strengths

The Scatter count changes the selected-symbol pool as well as the opening spins. Sticky Respins and per-reel multipliers add specific interactions to the expanding-symbol bonus rather than merely renaming it.

Weaknesses

Expansion needs Selected symbols on three reels, and each reel’s modifier is capped at 3x. A stronger paid entry costs substantially more without guaranteeing a winning expansion or profit.

Our Editor’s View

Alice: Time Rift makes its best use of the Time Rift symbol by connecting ordinary line wins, sticky sequences and the bonus’s Selected symbol. Its strength is that a better Scatter entry changes a concrete rule, while duplicate selected icons can improve an individual reel. The limitation is that those advantages still need the required positions and a qualifying expansion. It suits readers who enjoy a familiar expanding-symbol format with several interacting conditions, provided they distinguish sequence locking from whole-feature persistence and do not treat an expensive entry as a chosen outcome.
